This is where the Sloan Digital Sky Survey truly shines. One of the original goals of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey was to probe the structure of the universe itself. This requires knowledge of the distances to hundreds of thousands of galaxies. Launch to the Cosmos is where we investigate concepts related to galaxies, distances and quasars: everything outside our home galaxy, the Milky Way.
